ChurchPup comes pre-configured with LOTS of goodies,
BUT you can customize it or even build your own "homemade"
ChurchPup with the following dotpets and add-ons.
(Some of these are already included in the standard ChurchPup release)

Here you will find a few homemade dotpets for use with Puppy Linux 2xx or 3xx

extensions and themes

BIBLE SOFTWARE:

BibleDesktop1.0.8.pet (39 M)

Description: Bible Desktop is a Bible Study tool that uses the JSword project to read modules in Sword format so there is a huge range of Bibles, Commentaries, Dictionaries, Daily Devotionals and some General Books.

Updated with the latest version of BibleDesktop (1.0.8) and a complete java runtime environment (jre1.6.0_01) that will work with BibleDesktop as well as with your Seamonkey or Firefox Browser. See http://www.crosswire.org/bibledesktop/ for more info.

bibledesktop-decaf.pet (2497 K)

Description: Same as above but no java is included in the package. Also updated with the latest version of BibleDesktop(1.0.8). This one should be used if you already have a working java installed.

GXBible.pet (2497 K)

Description: a very simple script and database that uses gxmessage to display a different Bible verse each time you click the programs Icon. (Updated: now has 80 verses.)

html-bibles.pet (9604 K)

Description: Installs html versions of the World English Bible and the NET Bible on Puppy Linux and adds entries for them under the Documents menu. See http://ebible.org/ and http://net.bible.org/ for more information.

ALSO:

BibleTime is available as a series of packages found at GrafPup Linux. My understanding is that it's somewhat limited, but it may fill all your needs.

BPBible is a Windows program that seems to install and work effortlessly under the Wine program. (Install Wine through the Puppy software installer, or check the forums.)

E-Sword is not available to include in any distribution but must be downloaded from the website. Of course, e-sword is a Windows program but it can be run under Linux through the "Wine" program. It seems to be tricky. Check out these links:

INTERNET
w/ CONTENT FILTERING
:

firefox-thunderbird.pet (25 M)

Description: This is intended to replace the Seamonkey suite with Firefox 2.0.0.7 and Thunderbird 2.0.0.4 as default browser and email. Includes flashplayer and the ProCon Latte content filter extension. (ProCon is a content filter; this is an optional install)

Preferences are preset so that mailto links viewed in Firefox will open Thunderbird and http links in emails viewed in Thunderbird will launch Firefox. Note: this package CAN be uninstalled but the symbolic link: /usr/lib/mozilla  must be deleted and replaced with a new one pointing to the Seamonkey directory in /usr/lib. Gxine depends on this link. Also the Seamonkey, Dillo, etc., files are not automatically removed, just the links.

BETTER YET, try OpenDNS - it works either on a single computer or a whole network, with any browser or operating system, and is super-easy to use!

FirePup - Firefox rebuilt for ultimate speed! (More info at the FirePup forum)
